Editorial Priciples


BAL-TAM Türklük Bilgisi (Journal of Turcology) is an international peer-reviewed journal. It is published biannually, in March and September, and covers the studies in all fields of Turcology and its sub-disciplines as well.

Türklük Bilgisi gives priority to the original studies previously unpublished and the results of different projects conducted in the fields of science and research. Also, the portraits and bibliographies of various well-known contemporary and historical Turcologists are particularly included. Besides, it would be great if you forward to us any news, comments or images about our journal and our Center, BAL-TAM, appearing in both the national and international media.

The language of the journal is Turkish. On the other hand, the scientific articles penned in English, Russian, German and French languages are also accepted, provided that they include a broad Turkish abstract.

Manuscripts to be sent to the journal should primarily have an analytical and scientific objectivity. Any article published in the journal can be quoted or referred anywhere only if the source is cited.

The title should not exceed 12 words and should be written in bold and capital letters. The abstract written in English and the original language, typed in bold and small characters, should be placed under the title. The author name should be placed under the title while the job title, institution address and e-mail information should be given at the bottom of the first page, with an asterisk in italics after author’s surname. The abstract should be in 150-200 words and drafted in such  a way to give the essence of the article. References, figures and tables should be omitted. Just below the abstract there should be at least three at most five keywords. Footnotes and bibliography should be in accord with the relevant scientific standards.

There is no page limit for the studies written out for BAL-TAM Türklük Bilgisi. The studies should be written on the computer in 1 line spacing with syllable width 126 mm and length 195 mm (Times News Roman font size 11).

Studies should be sent to the journal's e-mail address.

The decision whether to publish the articles sent to the journal belongs to the BAL-TAM Türklük Bilgisi and the scientific-referee board of the journal.

The views and opinions expressed in the writings belong exclusively to their authors and not necessarily reflect the general view of the BAL-TAM Türklük Bilgisi.

It is requested from the person who would send an article to our journal for the first time, to send a brief resume indicating the scientific field he/she works in, with an attached photo.
